Current In Shower Favourites

I have to a shower first thing in the morning, I honestly can't leave the house with out one. I also love a shower right before bed too, basically I really enjoy having a shower. I find that those 10 minutes by myself are almost like therapy. 10 minutes to get my thoughts together before I start my day. Anyone else with me on this?
Things you'll currently find in my shower...

Garnier Ultimate Blends Shampoo
This is my second bottle of this shampoo and I absolutely love it. It leaves your hair feeling squeaky clean but also super soft. It's great for dry hair. I love that it's Paraben free too. You can usually find the Ultimate Blends range on offer at Boots, it's currently £3.89 for a 400ml bottle.

L'Oreal Elvive Damage Care Repair Conditioner
I always follow up my shampoo with a repairing conditioner. I really enjoy the L'Oreal ones and have tried most of them, this one claims to leave hair with 'up to 95% less breakage from brushing'. So far I'm not too convinced on this claim, but I shed my hair more than average, so any product that is willing to help me with this I'm willing to give a go. This ranges in price but I've found it on Amazon for £2.59 plus delivery.

Shower Poof
I can't shower without one of these! They lightly exfoliate whilst making you shower gel go further. They're also great to use whilst fake tanning to stop build up and patchiness when fading.

Dove Purely Pampering Nourishing Body Wash
Dove body washes are by far my favourites. I have been using their Nourishing Body Wash with Almond and Hibiscus and it's lovely. My favourites are their 'Go Fresh' scents as I usually prefer something a little lighter in the morning. These are around £2.59 at Boots.

Soap & Glory Flake Away Body Polish
This is a fantastic body scrub, and it has been doing it's rounds on the Beauty Blogs for many years!
I have lost count of how many of these I have purchased as I always have one on the go in the shower. It contains sea salt to exfoliate, and Grapeseed and almond oils to moisturise. It has the typical Soap & Glory scent but it doesn't linger on the skin which I like. I tend to use this twice a week. It's currently £8.00 at Boots.

Olay Essentials Smoothing Face Scrub
I really struggle to find face scrubs that are gentle enough, yet exfoliating enough for my sensitive skin. I recently picked this one up from Olay. It has a thick lotion like texture with really fine exfoliating particles. I also find this gentle enough to use every day too. The only down side is that it isn't great at removing make up, but at £2.49 it's a bargain.

Are there any new in shower product worth trying?? xoxo

Taking A Chance...

Reviewing a perfume is always going to be tricky. Perfumes can be so personal and everyone can interpret them so differently. The thing I love about perfumes is that they can evoke so many memories and emotions.

My latest acquisition happens to be one that I've had before, Chanel CHANCE. I originally was given this when it first came out and have loved it ever since. I like perfumes that are light and fresh, but also a little bit different.

CHANCE contains notes of White Musk, Hyacinth and Citron, Pink Pepper, Jasmine, Fresh Vetiver, Orris Absolute and Amber Patchouli. I find this to be very citrusy on me once it settles, then it develops to be a little muskier as the day goes on. I find it to be similar to YSL Elle which is one of my all time favourite perfumes.

It's one of the only perfumes that I can continually smell on me after I've applied it.
CHANCE was the first round fragrance bottle from Chanel, banded in silver and with a transparent top.

I have the Eau De Toilette version which I prefer due to them being the lighter fragrance.

You can find CHANCE at House Of Fraser online and at Chanel counters... xoxo

Face Of The Day #1

'Face of the day posts' are one of my favourites to read. I love finding out what people genuinely wear on a daily basis.

Today I kept my make up fairly light, and simple. On a work day I don't typically like to spend much more than 10 minutes on my face, I'd much rather have the extra time in bed!

MaxFactor Lasting Performance in shade 100 Fair
Yep I really am this pale in the winter... This foundation has a medium, semi matte coverage and lasts well throughout the day. I have used countless tubes of this as it's also great to mix in with other foundations in the summer to give them the longevity.

George Super Boost Concealer
This is a fab concealer that works great under the eyes to hide any signs of a late night.

Yves Saint Laurent Blush Variation in no. 14
Favourite blush ever! The perfect cool pink with a slight baby pink shimmer. This works especially well when I'm on the paler side.

Maybelline Color Tattoo in no.40 Permanent Taupe
I love this crème eye shadow for quick make up days. I've found this works better blended out with your finger instead of a brush.

Seventeen High Drama Intense Liquid Eyeliner in Black
One of the best liquid eyeliners I've ever used. This has a felt tip applicator that makes applying eyeliner super easy. It also dries matt and to a really deep black finish.

L'Oreal Miss Manga Punky Mascara in Black
You may have seen this in my Boots haul earlier on in the week. This was my first time using it, and so far I really like it. Full review to come.

Maybelline Master Shape Brow Pencil in Soft Brown
This isn't my favourite brow pencil ever but the colour works really well with my darker hair.

MAC Lustre Lipstick in Cute - Ster
I love this lipstick so much and I'm gutted it's nearly finished. It's super old and unfortunately it was limited edition with the Hello Kitty collection, but it's the most perfect sheer peachy pink shade that you can apply with out a mirror. Any recommendations on similar MAC shades would be greatly appreciated!

Having A Good Hair Day!

Ok, I'll admit, I'm lazy when it comes to my hair. Almost every day that I go to work I pull it up into a bun. It's easy, quick and looks professional. But when I do spend that bit of extra time on it I really like to straighten it.

Quick back story... I love dying my hair, and have gone from chocolate to platinum to red to plum all in the space of a year... So as you can probably tell, it's pretty damaged!

I try and take the best possible care for my hair despite the constant colouring, so when I straighten it I like to use a heat protectant spray or serum. I have used almost everyone going and am a big fan of the John Frieda Frizz-ease Serum with the heat protectant built in. That one is amazing but can be hard to find in smaller Boots stores.

The latest one that I've picked up is by GHD. Now I may have been living under a rock for the past 10 years but I didn't know that GHD made styling products as well as styling tools?

I have been using this for the past few weeks and I have to say it's really good. With it being from the brand GHD who make some of the best styling tools ever, I'm not going to lie, I was expecting great things from this. I apply a few sprays of this all over my hair, then a few more on the ends and I use this as my heat protectant against blow drying and straightening.

It is as lightweight as it describes and I definitely think it keeps my hair straighter for longer.
This is going to sound silly, but this has the best spray top on it out of all the heat protectants I've ever used. There's nothing worse than spray bottles spitting at you in all random directions!
(Women will understand this)
The only thing I would say with all heat protectants is to use them sparingly as they have a tendency to leave your hair greasy the next day.

I picked my bottle up on very.co.uk for £10.00.

Any heat protectant recommendations that I need to try??  xoxo

Minor Boots Haul

Nothing drains my bank account quicker than a half day at work followed by a 'quick' trip to a nearby Boots...

I feel the damage done today was minor, plus I did manage to pick up some good offers.

Firstly I picked up the travel size version of Charles Worthington's Straight & Smooth Straightening Crème. This heat protectant claims to leave a 'Dramatic Sleek Finish' with a 'Light Weight Texture'. I'm away on business at the end of this month so I thought this would come in really handy.
Whilst browsing the Charles Worthington section my eye also got caught by their Moisture Seal range. I can't resist a good hair mask and with it's bright orange packaging their Mineral Hair Rescue Masque looked perfect. This one has a snap open lid too which I thought was really handy and it's enriched with Argan Oil so I'm hoping it doesn't disappoint.
I love Charles Worthington as a brand, plus a lot of their products are Paraben Free too!
Full size Charles Worthington products currently have a 1/3 off in Boots, travel sizes are still £1.99 each.
Next stop for me was the make up aisles. I noticed that L'Oreal had a new addition to their Miss Manga mascara range, 'Miss Manga Punky' designed for mega volume. I haven't tried the original Miss Manga mascara but have heard great reviews on it. The new addition has a fab wide set plastic brush that looked fantastic for building up volume. This mascara has an introductory price of £5.99.
Lastly MaxFactor had buy one get one half price across their whole line. I picked up a Colour Elixir Lipstick in 833 Rosewood, and a Colour Elixir Lip Liner in 06 Mauve Moment. When used lightly this duo create a 'your lips but better' effect which I love, and built up they can create a perfect Kylie Jenner lip. I would highly recommend this pairing, I purchased the lipstick for £7.99 and got the lip liner for £2.49.
Reviews will be coming soon on all products mentioned  xoxo

New Year, New Brushes

I love the simple things in life, coffee in bed, walks by the sea, cwtches on the sofa when it's cold outside and... new make up brushes. I honestly don't ask for much.

I have recently got my hands on a new set of brushes that have been on my wish list for far too long (Beauty Blogger Issues) and when I finally got a set of my own they certainly didn't disappoint.

Say hello to the  Ecotools Fresh & Flawless Five Piece Complexion set!

This is a fantastic travel size brush set that covers almost all aspects of applying your makeup.

The brushes are made from super soft synthetic fibres and are cruelty free. I find that synthetic brushes are really easy to wash too which is always as plus as cleaning my make up brushes is a chore that I don't enjoy...

I have tried and tested all the brushes, and so far my favourites have been the Complexion Blending Brush for buffing in my foundation. I find this to be quite similar to my RealTechniques Expert Face Brush but a smaller, not so dense version; I have also loved the Precision Foundation Brush for blending out concealer under the eyes.

Another favourite has been the Buffing Concealer Brush for blending eye shadow into the crease. Not what it's made for, but fab at it regardless.

Even though this is a kit designed predominantly for applying face make up, I have used most of the brushes for other areas of my face too. As well as the Buffing Concealer Brush being great for under the eyes, the Flat Concealer Brush is great for applying lipstick too.

I've seen this kit available in Boots, Superdrug and Asda. Currently I can only find it online at Amazon for £10.79, with free delivery.

Let me know your thoughts if you guys have tried this kit or any or the Ecotools range...  xoxo

Second Best Christmas Present Ever...

Yesterday I blogged about the gorgeous Daniel Wellington watch I was lucky enough to receive for Christmas, and today I wanted to carry on with the present theme as this was a gift too good to not blog about!

I was also received from my Mum (I think for her to use as much as me) the Urban Decay: Naked On the Run Palette. I already have the Naked One and the Naked Two, but had been eyeing this up ever since it launched.

Eye shadows L - R: DIVE  FIX  RESIST  DARE  STUN, Highlighter: 5050

This palette comes in the most beautiful rose gold and almost tortoiseshell packaging, with a good size mirror on the inside and unlike the other Naked Palettes, this palette contains almost a full face look which makes it perfect for traveling.

This palette contains, a mini Perversion Mascara in Black. I've tried this a few times and its ok. the formula is quite wet which some people will either love or hate and the wand is a chunky standard bristle brush. It is super black though which is fantastic.

It also comes with a mini 24/7 Glide On Eyeliner in Stag. This is a gorgeous rich chocolate brown shade.

The last removable item is a full size Naked Lip gloss in the shade Sesso. This is a sheer rose shade that is very easy to wear and I would think flattering on most skin tones.

There are 6 all new eye shadows in the palette that are all highly pigmented and easy to blend. The quality of this palette is what you'd hope from Urban Decay.
My favourite combo is Dive all over the lid, Dare in the crease, Resist pushed into the lower lash line and 5050 as a highlight. Super quick and easy!

The bronzer I find a little too warm for me but the blush is lovely and very flattering.

You can find this palette at urbandecay.co.uk for £37.00  xoxo

Best Christmas Present Ever

I want to start by saying I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas and New Year. I'm still struggling to get my head around the fact that we're in 2015, anyone else with me on this one?

This Christmas I was incredibly lucky and I received some amazing gifts from my friends and family! One of my favourites that I had to share with you is a Daniel Wellington watch that I received from my Mum. I was fortunate enough that she let me choose it so I knew which one I was expecting.

I went for the 'Classy Winchester'

The 'Classy Winchester' retails for £129 on DanielWellington.com. Because we ordered it during the festive season we received complimentary gift wrapping which was lovey.

The watch face has a diameter of 34mm and a height of only 6mm. Most of the watches are available in either rose gold (which I went for), or silver casing. The Classy collection features Swarovski crystals for the index.

I have ridiculously small wrists and I have never owned a large watch before. Because the Daniel Wellington watches are so thin I thought I'd go for the larger face for a change. I love the preppy and simplistic style of all the watches and could have easily ordered a dozen!

The watches come with a choice of leather or nylon/ 'NATO' straps which are all interchangeable.
The website has a bit of a history to the brand and they say that the NATO straps originated from the British Navy where divers would wear strong nylon straps over their wetsuits. They have utilised this practical element and created a line with lots of patterns and colours which make it fashionable and relevant but also maintaining a classic British feel.

I'm completely in love with this watch and feel it won't be my last Daniel Wellington.

Please let me know of any other watch brands worth checking out! xoxo
