L'Oreal Infallible 24Hour Matte Foundation: The Review

It's no secret that I love makeup, but if I was restricted to only buying one makeup item, I would always pick a foundation. I have around 5 different ones currently on rotation and I'm constantly on the lookout for new ones to try.

I had a seen a lot of bloggers ravig about the L'Oreal Infallible 24Hour Matte Foundation when it came out about a year ago and as usual, I'm late to the party in trying it. When I spotted it in my local Boots for only £7.99 I knew I had to give it a go.

I was impressed with the shade range and I picked mine up in shade no.10 Porcelain. As many of you know, I'm naturally very fair but this is a fab match for me. It has a slight pinky undertone than I wouldn't usually go for, but it actually works really well at cancelling out any blue tones in my skin.

I love the neat diagram on the back of the tube that lets you know what to expect from the foundation. This would be so handy on higher priced foundations as sometimes you really don't know what to expect, unless you've researched it to hell and read a million blogger reviews before purchasing... #Guilty.

The foundation claims to have a medium texture which I would agree with and it has an almost mousse like consistency that I really like. It also claims to have high coverage and a matte finish. Yes, I would definitely agree with the matte finish, but I've found that I can only get it to a medium coverage on myself.

To be honest this foundation applies like a dream and looks flawless on me, but unfortunately only for the first hour or so. After that I've found it clings to my dry patches like no other :( ... (Combination skin sucks!)

I have been applying it in dots all over my face with my fingers, then blending it in with a damp beauty blender. I find this has been giving me the most even coverage. I have tried applying it with, and without a primer but it doesn't seem to make too much difference to the overall longevity of the foundation.

At £7.99 it's very reasonably priced for a drugstore foundation and you get 35ml of product in the tube. I love tube foundations as they're so easy to work with and have minimal mess. The tube nozzle is also really thin which is great for squeezing out precise amounts.

I think this foundation would work even better on oily skin types where there wouldn't be the dry patches to cling too. I will continue to wear this to work as it's a good, staple everyday foundation. I'm going to test it out with different primers too to see if that makes a difference with my cakeyness, I'll keep you updated.

Have you tried the L'Oreal Infallible 24Hour Matte Foundation yet? I'd love to know what you thought of it xoxo
